About the Raid

The 4-Day Great Dunes Raid is an immersive adventure in the heart of the Moroccan desert, between Zagora, the legendary Dakar tracks, Erg Lihoudi and the great dunes of Chegaga.

After a transfer from Marrakech, the expedition begins in Zagora before heading into the desert along the former Dakar Rally tracks. The route passes through Tagounite, the Sacred Oasis and the vast Saharan landscapes before reaching the bivouac set in the dunes of Chegaga.

A full day is dedicated to riding through the dunes, with lunch in the heart of the desert and an overnight stay under the stars. The raid continues with the crossing of the dried Lake Iriki and the desert plains to Foum Zguid, before the return transfer to Marrakech.

This raid is designed for lovers of wide open spaces, off-road driving and authentic adventure in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 1 – Marrakech → Zagora

Pickup at Marrakech Airport or your accommodation, followed by a transfer by vehicle to Zagora, the gateway to the desert.

Check-in at Kasbah Sirocco, dinner and the first overnight stay before the quad departure the next day.

Day 2 – Zagora → Chegaga

Departure in the morning with the machines along the former Dakar Rally tracks.
Lunch break in Tagounite before heading to the Erg Lihoudi desert and the Sacred Oasis.

Arrival in the late afternoon at the bivouac set in the dunes of Chegaga.
Dinner and overnight under the stars.

Day 3 – Day in the Chegaga Dunes

A full day of riding in the heart of the great dunes.
Lunch at a bivouac in the middle of the desert.

At the end of the day, return to the same bivouac as the night before.
Dinner and second overnight stay in the dunes.

Day 4 – Chegaga → Foum Zguid → Marrakech

Crossing the Chegaga Desert towards the dried Lake Iriki.
Passing through desert plains with the possibility of encountering nomads along the way.

Arrival in the village of Foum Zguid, followed by the return transfer by vehicle to Marrakech.

Requirements

Activity accessible to all levels, beginners welcome.
Minimum age to drive a quad: 16 years old.
Participants under 16 may drive with parental consent or in the presence of an adult.
Parental consent required for minors.
A good level of physical fitness is recommended
